"God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing his praises." -Sing to the Lord : Music in Divine Worship
The transcendent power of music to touch the core of the human person and put us in touch with the divine has been recognized since ancient times. It is thus no surprise that music has been the great artistic tradition of the Church and continues to be an endless wellspring from which to express our praise and worship to the Creator, the joys and sorrows of the human condition, and our longing for peace and our desire for justice.
The Music Ministry at St. Thomas a’Becket welcomes and invites anyone with a love of music and a desire to worship in song to join one or more of our music ensembles. We welcome singers and instrumentalists of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels to come and experience the joy of making music in praise of our God. Participants in this ministry enjoy a special sense of community that comes from making something beautiful together, for God, and for His people. Nothing makes us happier than seeing new faces and welcoming them into our musical family. Come join us!
