YOUTH MINISTRY SERVICE PROJECTS

St. Thomas a'Becket is blessed to have a large number of teens dedicated to helping to make the parish, the community, and the world a better place.

SERVICE AREAS
The fantastic members of the youth group have volunteered their time and energy in the following ways:

• Helping at the Parish Picnic;
• Providing holiday child care while parents did some Christmas shopping;
• Staffing Breakfast with Santa and packing dozens of food baskets for St. Vincent de Paul;
• They visit the residents at Waltonwood every month to share activities with the residents.
• They serve as guides and assistants for Vacation Bible School.

INFORMATION FOR YOUTH VOLUNTEERS
Our Safe Environment page lists all of the steps necessary to become a youth volunteer. All Youth Group volunteers who will be working with children, the elderly, or other vulnerable populations must complete a background check for teens, have their parents sign a permission slip, and attend a Called to Serve workshop.

BABYSITTING POLICY
Although our Youth Groups provide child care for various Church events and activities, Church staff members may NOT provide the names of teens to parents interested in hiring a babysitter. This is both to protect the privacy of the teens, as well as to limit the Church's liability. The best resource for parents interested in finding a babysitter is always the recommendation of another parent or parishioner. You can meet new people by connecting with one of our Commissions or Groups.
