CYO BASKETBALL

Welcome to Cardinal Country! The St. Thomas a’Becket CYO Basketball program is part of the great CYO tradition—a tradition that has been around for over 75 years! Here at St. Thomas a’Becket, we pride ourselves on the accomplishments that we have achieved in the years that we have been running. With the amazing and enthusiastic coaching staff that we have on board, your CYO experience is sure to be a great one.

The CYO basketball season officially began the first week of November. All practices and home games will be played at St. Thomas a'Becket, in the church gym, and all away games and tournaments will be held at neighboring parishes within the Archdiocese of Detroit. The season runs from November through February, with a total of 10 regular season games, 3 extra tournaments, and 2 practices per week.

The Junior Varsity is open to all students, grades 4-6. There are two teams at the JV level: JV Boys and JV Girls. The cost to play is $100. The Varsity level is open to all students, grades 7-8. Again, there are two teams at the varsity level: V Boys and V Girls. The cost to play is $125. A copy of a current physical must also be turned in and kept on file before the start of the season (school physicals and other sports physicals will be accepted.)

Participants of the CYO must be registered parishioners of a Catholic parish and must be able to provide proof of such status. Students attending Catholic schools are eligible to participate. Our coaches are volunteers who follow our Safe Environments guidelines.
