The Baptismal Font was designed by Ben Hoste, a general contractor specializing in commercial renovation. He was introduced into building baptismal fonts by Margaret Cavanaugh who decorated the cathedral when the pope visited the Detroit area. The design of our font consists of a heater, filter, overflow protection, and an automatic fill. The marble cap is made of braceri adacoda marble imported from Italy. The interior material is Idaho Quartz zinc, and the Canterbury Cross in the bottom of the font is made from tradeau mosaic.
