STEWARDSHIP COMMISSION FINANCE COMMITTEE

Finance Committee - September 2010

The Finance Committee has recently split into two subcommittees:

  • Finance Budget Committee
  • Finance Planning Committee

The Finance Committees deal with the financial aspect of the parish in the form of budget development and review of expenditures. They also provide the leadership for the development of Parish 1-3-5 year plan.

The major roles and responsibilities of the Finance Committees include:

  • Develop a financial budget to support the goals and priorities approved by the PPC for a Parish 1-3-5-10 year plan, based on estimated income and expenses;
  • Solicit inputs and priorities for the budget from PPC, Staff, and Commissions;
  • Provide "big picture" direction of the budget based on a Parish 1-3-5-10 year plan;
  • Review and set parish-specific financial policies and guidelines;
  • Review, monitor, and report overall income and spending to the budget plan;
  • Provide review and discussion with Father Pat and / or to the PPC and Staff for major non-budgeted expenses that may affect the overall budget status.
