VOLUNTEER FOR OUR FAITH FORMATION PROGRAMS

The success of our Faith Formation Program depends upon the selfless contributions of hundreds of people. The African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child." was never more true than in Faith Formation. Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child or in the Church? We have opportunities to meet everyone's schedule, talents, and interests.

Catechists: You will teach students in our classroom based program. You will work within the provided curriculum and textbook to help students understand and appreciate our shared Catholic faith.

Substitutes: Your name goes on our substitute list to fill in for catechists on an infrequent or a long-term basis, depending on your availability. The FF office contacts you to see if you can sub for a teacher.

Hall monitors: You walk the hallways during FF classes, making sure that students get to their classrooms, return to them after a trip to the bathroom, etc., and making sure that parents wait for their children in the Gathering Space.

Outdoor Monitors Before and After Class: You monitor the drop-off and pick-up to ensure that children arrive safely at Church, that each child is picked up, and to ensure traffic safety.

Cleaning tables in the classroom: Usually sometime during the day, well before students arrive for their classes, our cleaners go through to spruce up the classrooms and wipe down the tables.

Sacramental Preparation Activities: These volunteers help to staff our sacramental preparation nights and assist children in their activities on these evenings (e.g., helping First Communion students make the faces to decorate the altar, decorate their reserved sign, etc.).
