RECONCILIATION

For All Parishioners
All parishioners are invited to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturdays from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. or by appointment. You may call the parish office at (734) 981-1333 to schedule an appointment or email Fr. Pat or Fr. James directly.

For First Communion Candidates
The Archdiocesan policy states that the "Sacrament of Reconciliation is received prior to the celebration and reception of First Eucharist. Any variation of this norm occurs on an individual basis." The "normal expectation is that everyone be prepared and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with five of the lessons from our regular religion book, Faith First. It is the right of the parents to decide whether or not their family is ready for this Sacrament at this time. We will continue to study the sacrament of Reconciliation each year, with a detailed study and special book, We Celebrate Reconciliation, to be used in the fall of the fourth year (4th grade).

For Fourth Grade Students (or older students who have not yet made the Sacrament of Reconciliation)
Our fourth grade curriculum is devoted to deepening students' understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The formal study of Reconciliation as a nine or ten year old is for all of our fourth year students. Even though many may have made the sacrament prior to their First Communion, they will be deepening and strengthening their understanding using a special book, We Celebrate Reconciliation.
