FAITH SHARING AND SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES

The Women’s Faith Sharing Group at a'Becket is a small group of gals who meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the home of Toni O’Farrell.

The new book is called Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver. The author draws on the stories of the biblical Mary’s and others whose experience with God transformed their lives. Joanna uses everyday events in a woman’s life with a good splash of humor to make for a good read and lively discussion from the group. We are each responsible for purchasing our book. It can be found on Amazon or ordered through your favorite bookseller.

This little group gives us the opportunity to share the challenges, as women, of trying to live a Christian life in a culture that does not always share those values. Come join us for a little prayer, a little sharing and some good old fashioned fellowship. Just give Toni a call at 734 495-1673 so we will know to expect you.

The Lord’s Remnant Prayer and Scripture Group welcomes anyone interested to join us on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. We are a continuation of Fr. Mathew’s Bible classes. Our mission is to give praise and glory to God by seeking His direction through prayer, scripture and fellowship allowing the Spirit to work within us to be Jesus to others and doers of the Word.

• Typical meeting begins with prayer for our Church, our parish and special intentions. We follow with our scripture readings which may include a video, but always has a lot of discussion. We are currently studying the readings for next Sunday as presented on emmausjourney.org. We also participate in other activities at STAB and other parishes as we follow the Spirit’s direction. And, of course, there are potluck dinners.
• We adopted the name “The Lord’s Remnant” from many Biblical references, including, “But I will leave among you a meek and humble people who trust and take refuge in the name of the LORD. The remnant of Israel will do no wrong and tell no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths. They will eat and lie down and no one will make them afraid.” - Zephaniah 3:12-13
