MEETING AND EVENT PLANNING

All events at the parish are coordinated through our staff, our Parish Pastoral Council, our Evangelization Committee, or one of our four Commissions: Christian Service, Faith Formation, Stewardship and Worship. Anyone planning an event should be sure that his/her commission chair is aware of the event and that the commission has approved it before booking a room, advertising the event, or making other arrangements. Download the parish organizational chart if you are unsure about the Commission under which your event falls. Fundraising events require advance approval. See our fundraising policies for more information or download a fundraising request form.

Only registered parishioners may reserve space at St. Thomas a'Becket. All requests must have been approved by the appropriate Commission. If you have an approved event or meeting that you want to arrange, please email Barb Palazzolo at barb.palazzolo@abecket.org. Do not assume that space is reserved unless you have received confirmation from Barb. Also be aware that spiritual and sacramental programs (including funerals) can upend plans and may require your group to move from the original space planned or to cancel the event.

  • Obtain copies of the facility use policies and the kitchen use policies and be sure that you are familiar with Church policies.
  • Plan to turn in a work order to Rick St. Peter five days prior to your event with a detailed description of your setup needs, as well as a diagram. The more specific you are, the more helpful it is.
  • All A/V equipment is reserved through the Religious Education Programs office. A/V equipment is reserved for the use of catechists. If you need A/V equipment for your meeting or event, please email Anne Truax in the FF Office at anne.truax@abecket.org to check on availability.
  • The deadline for getting a reminder about your event into the Chancellor (church bulletin) is Monday. All submissions that will be featured in the Chancellor on a holiday weekend must be in TEN DAYS prior to the holiday weekend. All submissions should be emailed to Barb Palazzolo at barb.palazzolo@abecket.org.
