PRO-LIFE COMMITEE

January is Respect Life month. The following Pro-Life Activities for the are intended to increase our awareness and understanding of the sanctity of Life. It would be really nice to see you at any or all of these events.

Saturday, January 21, 9:00 AM: Rosary for Life at St. Thomas a’Becket

Sunday, January 22, 7:00 - 8:00 PM: Holy Hour for Life at Resurrection Parish

Thursday January 26, 7:00 PM: Movie night at St. Thomas a'Becket featuring a showing of the movie “Bella”

• DID YOU KNOW? The Educational Center for Life is a resource center for the study of Life issues, and extends an invitation to you to come to their office and see the many books, videos, pamphlets, curriculum, etc. that they stock. • Right to Life – Lifespan Entertainment Book 2012:
  Purchase a 2012 Entertainment book to benefit Right to Life - Lifespan. These make great gifts. The 2012 book is $25.00. (Please make checks payable to Right to Life - Lifespan.)

OBJECTIVE:
Our objective is to work within our parish to teach respect for all human life from conception to natural death, and to organize and advocate for its protection through: (1) education (2) prayer (3) campaigns and (4) fund-raising, using resources from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Michigan Catholic Conference (MCC), the Diocese, our Parish, and Lifespan. The Chair of the Pro-Life Committee is Christine (Chris) Billecke.

Meeting times:
The second Saturday of every month at noon at Church. We encourage anyone in the parish to attend our meetings and help make our parish an active force in promoting the culture of life in our society.

Protest: If you would like to join others in praying for an end to abortion, a Rosary is said every first Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM, outside of the Northland Family Planning Center West, 35000 Ford Road, Westland. This peaceful demonstration does not take place on the property of the facility, but near it.
