The work of the Christian Service Commission includes working to meet the needs our own parishioners, the needs of those in our community, and to address issues of peace and justice in the world at large.
Active community and global outreach groups and activities at St. Thomas a'Becket include:
We have an Advent Tree in which parishioners purchase gifts for people in need.
We hold blood drives at St. Thomas a'Becket to help the American Red Cross replenish the dangerously low blood supply.
We collect Bunny Bags of Easter goodies to be distributed to children in need.
The Knights of Columbus are lay apostles for the promotion of the teachings of Jesus Christ and supporters of the Church. Its founding principles are charity, unity and fraternity. The Knights of Columbus is for Catholic men, aged 18 and older.
The Pro-Life Committee works within the parish to teach respect for all human life from conception to natural death, and organizes and advocates for its protection.
The School Supplies Drive collects school supplies for children in need in our immediate and extended communities.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. They collect non-perishable food in the red wagons and use the top hats to collect money after Masses. The money is used to support area food banks and those in need.
