CHERYL RENDELL, CHRISTIAN SERVICE COMMISSION CHAIR

Hello! My name is Cheryl Rendell. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am happily married to my husband, Jeff and we have three wonderful children. We moved to Michigan as part of a job relocation in August of 2002 and joined St. Thomas a'Becket shortly thereafter. The location of the church drew us to our first Mass, but it was the people inside that let us know we had indeed found our parish home!

In 1998, I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science degree. I worked in a physical rehabilitation clinic specializing in workplace injury until deciding to become a full time stay-at-home mother after the birth of our second child.

I served as MOMs group facilitator at St. Thomas a'Becket for two years and was also a member of the Women Blessing Women planning team for several years. I currently volunteer in the Children's Liturgy of the Word program and now lead the Summer Vacation Bible School program.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends. Our family loves to travel and we always enjoy spending time at our cottage on Lake Huron in Ontario.

St. Thomas a'Becket is a parish filled with wonderful people and a spirit of community. My goal is to see that spirit and energy put into action through our Christian Service Commission as we encourage and enable our fellow parishioners to fulfill the Church’s mission of love, justice, freedom
and peace by reaching out to all those in need.
