CONFIRMATION SERVICE HOURS

Students preparing for Confirmation are required to complete service hours in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. These hours must be documented on the form provided and a supervisor must sign off to confirm that the student completed the service hours.

There are many opportunities for service both inside the Church and in the larger community. Ideas inside the Church include:

• Volunteering in the Faith Formation Program
• Assisting Coordinator of Volunteers Sue Miller in the preparing the Church environment
• Performing building and grounds maintenance with Rick St. Peter
• Volunteer in the Children's Liturgy of the Word program
• Helping the St. Vincent de Paul program sort and pack food
• Sorting and delivering school supplies or Christmas presents
• Providing babysitting during meetings or events
• Volunteer to work in the nursery on Sundays
• Working with Youth Minister Stephanie Tierney on approved projects or events

The larger community can also benefit from your service. Ideas include:

• Contact Waltonwood or nearby retirement communities for opportunities for service
• Contact a Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop to offer assistance in coordinating a service project
• Assist Mott Children's Hospital with your time and talent
• Coordinate a toy or clothing drive or knit or crochet blankets for the Children's Hospital of Michigan
• Complete projects for the Michigan Humane Society to help animals in need
